
TCU Opens Four Match Road Trip Friday

FORT WORTH, Texas - The TCU volleyball team opens up a four match road trip this weekend as they are set to take on Air Force Friday night and UNLV on Sunday afternoon. Friday night's match is set for 8 p.m. (CST) while the UNLV match is slated to begin at 3 p.m. (CST). The UNLV contest will be aired live on CBS College Sports.
TCU NOTABLES
The Frogs saw their 11-match conference home winning streak come to an end against Utah on Thursday night.
TCU wrapped up the first half of conference play with a 3-5 mark. The second half will feature five road matches and three home matches.
Kay Lin Connolly posted her third 20-dig match with 22 digs against BYU.
Four Frogs tallied double-doubles in the BYU match.
Irene Hester had two double-doubles over the weekend giving her 21 for her career and 12 on the season. She had nine in her first three seasons combined.
With Sunday's match being televised, the Frogs will be on TV for the third straight week. In total, they will be on three different networks in 2010.
AIR FORCE NOTABLES
Air Force picked up a 3-1 victory over San Diego State its last time out.
Caroline Kurtz was named Co-MWC Player of the Week after dropping in 24 kills against the Aztecs.
Kurtz paces the team with an average of 3.62 kills per set.
Kelly Spencer is averaging 3.42 digs per set.
At the net, the Falcons are led by Nichole Stilwell's 0.74 blocks per set.
THE SERIES
TCU leads the all-time series, 12-2, including an 11-1 record since TCU joined the MWC in 2005.
TCU has dominated the series, winning the last 10 meetings dating back to the 2005 campaign.
Air Force's lone victory over the Frogs since 2005 came in Colorado Springs on Nov. 5, 2005.
TCU is 4-2 against Air Force in Colorado Springs.
The Frogs have only dropped two sets to the Falcons since the loss in 2005.
UNLV NOTABLES
UNLV sits eighth in the league with a 2-6 record and is 7-15 overall on the season.
The Rebels came away with a 3-1 victory over UMKC on Sunday to snap a four match losing streak.
Sarah Nehf is the leading attacker with 3.12 kills per set.
Defensively, the Rebels Jeralynn Makaiwi is average in a team-best 3.55 digs per set.
At the net, they are led by Madeline Westman. who averages 0.99 blocks per set.
THE SERIES
UNLV leads the all-time series, 9-4, including an 8-3 record since TCU joined the MWC in 2005.
TCU and UNLV have split the season series each of the last two seasons.
The Frogs are winless in Las Vegas in five trips.
TCU topped the Rebels in the first meeting this season, winning 3-1 on Sept. 30.
