FORT WORTH, Texas -- TCU wide receiver Jeremy Kerley, linebacker Tank Carder and defensive end Wayne Daniels have been named to Phil Steele's Midseason All-America Team.
Kerley is a second-team selection at kick returner, while Carder and Daniels are fourth-team picks on defense.
Kerley, a 2009 All-American, is the only player in the nation to rank in the top 12 in punt returns and the top 16 in kickoff returns. The senior from Hutto, Texas, has career-high averages of 15.0 yards on punt returns and 28.9 yards on kickoff returns.
Kerley has been recognized three times this season as an honoree for the Paul Hornung Award's Most Versatile Performances of the Week.
Kerley also leads TCU in receptions (28) and all-purpose yards per game (149.9).
Carder and Daniels have been key in TCU topping the nation in scoring defense (9.3 points per game) while ranking second in total defense (218.3 yards per game) and pass defense (128.0 yards per game).
Carder ranks among the Horned Frog leaders with 33 tackles, including 3 1/2 for loss. The junior from Sweeny, Texas, is tied for the team lead with four pass breakups.
Daniels tops the Mountain West Conference with nine tackles for loss while placing second in the league with 5 1/2 sacks. Both numbers already equal his season totals from last year.
