NEW ORLEANS -- TCU quarterback Andy Dalton has been named a Manning Award Star of the Week for his play in Saturday's 45-0 win over Wyoming.
Dalton completed 14-of-17 passes for a season-high 270 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions. He added 42 yards rushing on four carries for a season-best 312 yards of total offense. The senior from Katy, Texas, went over 10,000 career yards in total offense and is now at 10,075.
Dalton's 82.4 completion percentage tied for fourth best in a single game in TCU history.
It's the second time this season Dalton has received the Manning Award honor. He was also recognized after completing 21-of-23 passes for 267 yards and two scores in last month's 45-10 win over Baylor. The 91.3 completion percentage set TCU and Mountain West Conference single-game records.
The Manning Award is presented to the nation's top quarterback. Dalton was one of 10 finalists for last year's award.
Dalton has the most wins (35) among active quarterbacks nationally. He is also TCU's career leader in victories, touchdowns passes (53), completions (695) and passing yards (8,634). His 61.0 completion percentage narrowly trails Jeff Ballard (61.1, 2003-06) for the top spot.
