
Frater Wins Gold At World Championships

BERLIN, Germany - Michael Frater captured a goal medal on Saturday as a member of Jamaica's 4x100 relay at the 12th Annual IAAF World Championships.The 4x100 quartet, which consisted of Steve Mullings, Frater, Usain Bolt and Asafa Powell, cruised to a World Championships record time of 37.31 seconds to win the gold at Olympic Stadium.
On the women's side, Virgil Hodge anchored a St. Kitts and Nevis 4x100 unit to an opening-round time of 43.98 seconds on Saturday, but failed to make the finals. The quartet finished fifth overall in heat No. 1 in the opening round.
On Friday, Khadevis Robinson just missed making the finals of the men's 800 meters, recording a semifinal time of 1:45.91 seconds to finish fifth in heat No. 2.
The World Championships will come to a close tomorrow in Berlin.
