
Ferguson Headed To U.S. Amateur Championship

FORT WORTH, Texas -- TCU rising junior Allyson Ferguson has qualified for the 2009 United States Women's Golf Amateur Championship Aug. 3-9 in St. Louis.
Ferguson will be the second Horned Frog in the event. Last week, TCU teammate Brooke Beeler also qualified for the U.S. Amateur Championship.
Ferguson carded a 73 in a sectional qualifier in Frisco, Texas, to tie for second.
It was the latest in a string of strong summer performances for the Houston native. Last month, Ferguson was the top amateur at the Texas Women's Open in Garland.
Ferguson will be making her second appearance at the U.S. Women's Amateur Championship. She also qualified for the 2007 event.
