
Ellington Drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers

FORT WORTH, Texas - Chris Ellington was the final Horned Frog drafted on day three of the MLB First-Year Player Draft Thursday. The senior outfielder was taken in the 32nd round by the Milwaukee Brewers. He joins Matt Vern (13th round) and Matt Carpenter (13th round) as the only Frogs drafted in 2009.
Ellington transferred to TCU for his junior campaign in the fall of 2007. He had an outstanding two-year career in the Purple and White. He was a two-time second-team all-conference performer for the Frogs as well as earning All-Regional honors in the Fort Worth Regional in 2009.
This season, Ellington ranked third on the team with a .331 average with six home runs, 21 doubles and 52 RBIs.
For his career, Ellington was a .337 hitter. Of his 141 career hits, 42 were doubles, four were triples and 12 left the ballpark. He totaled 107 RBIs in 112 games played. Defensively, the right fielder notched eight outfield assists.
Since coming to TCU, Jim Schlossnagle has now seen 21 players drafted into the professional ranks.
