FORT WORTH, Texas - The TCU women's tennis team earned a final ranking of No. 29 for the 2009 season Friday by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA). The Horned Frogs posted an overall record of 17-11 this spring and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Team Championships.
With the ranking, the Frogs have spent the final seven weeks ranked inside the top-30, sitting as high as No. 21 this season. Eight of the Frogs' opponents this season finished in the top-25.
The Frogs won their second Mountain West Conference tournament title since joining the league in 2005-06. Jefferson Hammond was named the MWC Coach of the Year for the second-straight season, while three players earned all-conference accolades.
