2009 TCU Football Schedule
FORT WORTH, Texas -- TCU's 2009 football schedule has been completed with Thursday's Mountain West Conference announcement of the dates for league contests
All 12 games for TCU will be played on Saturdays. The Mountain West Conference slate will run for eight consecutive weeks, beginning Oct. 10, and alternate each game between road and home dates.
The Horned Frogs, who will be in their fifth season of Mountain West Conference play, open league action with an Oct. 10 contest at Air Force before hosting Colorado State on Oct. 17 at 3 p.m.
TCU will travel to BYU on Oct. 24. The Frogs and Cougars had met on a Thursday the previous three years.
TCU hosts UNLV at 3 p.m. on Halloween (Oct. 31) before traveling to San Diego State (Nov. 7) for a 1 p.m. Pacific time kickoff. Between regular-season wins over the Aztecs in 2005 and 2007 and Poinsettia Bowl victories in 2006 and 2008, TCU has won at Qualcomm Stadium in each of the last four years.
Utah comes to Fort Worth on Nov. 14 for a 6:30 p.m. contest. It will be the first time since TCU began Mountain West Conference play in 2005 that the teams will play on a Saturday. The previous four meetings between the Frogs and Utes were on Thursdays.
The Frogs are at Wyoming on Nov. 21 before closing the regular season with a noon home game versus New Mexico on Thanksgiving weekend (Nov. 28).
TCU's non-conference schedule includes road games at ACC opponents Virginia (Sept. 12) and Clemson (Sept. 26). The Cavaliers will come to Amon G. Carter Stadium in 2012. Prior to this upcoming season, the Frogs had not faced an ACC opponent since 1997 when it played North Carolina.
Non-conference home dates for TCU include Texas State (Sept. 19) and SMU (Oct. 3). The Frogs defeated the Mustangs, 48-7, last season in the State Farm DFW Duel - Battle for the Iron Skillet and have won eight of the last nine meetings. TCU holds a 42-39-7 edge in the 88-game series.
All eight Mountain West Conference games will be nationally televised, including six straight in high definition through VERSUS and CBS College Sports. Television plans are still pending for the Virginia and Clemson contests.
Season tickets, including packages starting at $320 for four tickets, are available via www.GoFrogs.com or by calling the TCU Athletics Ticket Office at (817) 257-FROG (3764).

TCU closed the 2008 season with an 11-2 record and a No. 7 ranking in final polls by the Associated Press and USA Today.
Under head coach Gary Patterson, the Frogs have won at least 10 games in five of the last seven campaigns with four 11-win seasons (2003, 2005, 2006, 2008).
TCU returns 13 starters and 46 lettermen from last year's squad, including consensus All-America defensive end Jerry Hughes.
