Lorenzen and Riford Earn All-American Accolades

FORT WORTH, Texas- Juniors Erin Lorenzen and Simone Riford both were tabbed All-Americans following the 2009 NCAA Rifle Championships on Saturday.
The award goes out to rifle shooters that show excellence in their respected disciplines. TCU has posted five All-Americans under head coach Karen Monez.
Erin Lorenzen repeats for the third consecutive year earning a first team spot in air rifle and second team honors for smallbore. During the NCAA qualifier match against Air Force, Lorenzen fired a 585. Next season, Lorenzen along with several other seniors, will provide strong leadership for the team.
Similar to Lorenzen, Simone Riford is a three-time All-American. For the 2009 season, Riford was named a second-team smallbore All-America honoree. Riford is one of four seniors that will make up the 2009-2010 Horned Frog Rifle Team.
The Purple and White have had three consecutive top-five finishes at the NCAA National Championships. TCU closed the 2009 NCAA Championships in fifth-place with 4614 points.
