The fourth-place finish was the highest finish posted by a women's 4x400 at the NCAA Indoor Championships in program history.
On the men's side, the men's 4x400 unit of Dell Guy, Jordan Pitts, Sean Zurko and Matthew Love placed ninth overall with a time of 3:09.06.
In the women's 60 meters, Young captured All-America honors by crossing the finish line in fourth-place with a time of 7.27 seconds. By clocking a fourth-place finish, Young, a two-time All-America honoree in the 60 meters, posted the highest finish ever in the women's 60 meters for a Flyin' Frog at the NCAA Indoor Championships. In 2001, Monica Twum recorded a sixth-place finish in the 60 meters in Fayetteville, Ark.
Overall, TCU, who closed the meet in 22nd-place, posted its highest finish on the women's side at the NCAA Indoors since 1983, while also recording its second highest finish in program history at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships. The Flyin' Frogs finished the NCAA's with 10 points. Tennessee won the NCAA Championship with 42 points. On the men's side, Oregon won the men's National Championship with 54 points.
"We were 22nd on the women's side and one point away from the top 20, so it is a step forward, but obviously we want to move the program forward and be in the top 20," said head coach Darryl Anderson. "We just have to keep working and get better during the outdoor season, which is right around the corner. On the men's side, we competed well against two teams in our heat, but we came up a little bit short. We are going to pick up a lot of guys during the outdoor season and be a whole lot better."
TCU will host the third annual Horned Frog Invitational at the Lowdon Track and Field Complex next Saturday. Teams expected to compete are North Texas, Texas Tech and UT-Arlington.
