
Volleyball Hosts BYU, Utah in Key Conference Matches

FORT WORTH, Texas - Riding a six-match winning streak, the TCU volleyball team is set to host two key conference matches when BYU and Utah hit town beginning Thursday night. Match time against the Cougars is set for 7 p.m. on Thursday, while Saturday's match against Utah is slated for a 1 p.m. first serve.
TCU NOTABLES
TCU extended its win streak to six matches with a pair of four-set victories over San Diego State and Air Force.
Kourtney Edwards had a terrific weekend and was named MWC Co-Player of the Week for the fourth time this season.
The Frogs finished the month of October with a stellar 8-1 record.
TCU set a new school-record with its 10th league victory of the season.
BYU NOTABLES
BYU got a big boost as top player, Kayla Walker, returned to the lineup after an ankle sprain.
She is averaging 4.04 kills per set, 1.94 digs per set and 0.80 blocks per set to lead the team.
The Cougars have won two straight, but are just 4-7 away from home.
The Cougars top the league with an average 2.81 blocks per set.
BYU SERIES NOTES
TCU picked up its first-ever win in Provo earlier this season with a 3-0 victory.
Despite the Cougars holding a 12-2 series advantage, the Frogs have won two of the last three meetings in the series.
BYU is 5-1 all-time in Fort Worth, but dropped a 3-0 decision in their last visit a year ago.
UTAH NOTABLES
Utah has won two straight entering the week, including a 3-2 win at BYU and a 3-0 win over UNLV.
The Utes are a combined 5-5 away from home this season (4-3, away; 1-2, neutral).
Karolina Bartkowiak is the Player to Watch for the Utes as she averages 3 kills per set and 2.49 digs per set.
UTAH SERIES NOTES
Utah leads the all-time series 11-2.
The Utes are the last team to hand the Horned Frogs a defeat as they handed the Frogs a 3-1 loss in Salt Lake City early this season.
Utah is currently riding a four-match win streak against the Horned Frogs and is 4-1 all-time in Fort Worth.
