FORT WORTH, Texas -- TCU junior right-side hitter Christy Hudson has been named MWC Player of the Week for her performance in the Mizuno Thanksgiving Classic hosted by Long Beach State. The honor is the first of her career and the seventh overall for TCU this season.Hudson, a 6-2 junior from Yorba Linda, Calif., led the Horned Frogs to four-set wins over Long Beach State and UC Irvine at the Mizuno Thanksgiving Classic in Long Beach, Calif. over the weekend.
Against the 49ers, she knocked down 16 kills for a .517 hitting percentage (one error), while collecting four digs and three total blocks. Against the Anteaters, Hudson tallied 12 kills, while collecting one total block, one assist and one ace.
On the week, Hudson averaged 3.50 kills, 0.50 blocks, 0.50 digs and 3.88 points per set, while hitting .377 (28-5-61).
Kourtney Edwards has earned MWC honors five times this season (Sept. 8, Sept. 14, Oct. 5, Nov. 2 and Nov. 9), while Megan Munce garnered honors on Oct. 26.
