
Four Frogs Tabbed All-Mountain West Conference

FORT WORTH, Texas - On the heels of a second-place finish in Mountain West Conference play, the TCU volleyball team saw four members of their squad earn all-conference accolades. Megan Munce was tabbed the Setter of the Year, while Kourtney Edwards, Christy Hudson and Katelyn Blackwood earned all-conference nods.
Hudson is a two-time all-conference honoree, earning all-conference accolades in 2008. Munce, Edwards and Blackwood all earned their first all-conference nod.
Munce guided the Frogs to a 13-3 league mark, setting the Frogs to an average of 13.2 kills per set. She has tallied 1092 assists in her first season as the setter, an average of 9.84 per set. Her 51 service aces on the season are tops in the league. She has racked up 12 double-doubles. Defensively, the sophomore is averaging 2.54 digs per set.
She has been even stronger in league play with an average of 10.12 assists per set and 2.57 digs per set.
The conference's most accurate hitter with a .367 attack percentage, Edwards is a five-time MWC Hitter of the Week honoree. She has a team-high 354 kills this season, an average of 3.25 per set. Her 113 blocks also pace the team and rank 10th in the league. She has led the team in kills on 13 occasions and in blocks 18 times.
In conference play, Edwards is averaging 3.11 kills per set and is hitting at a .327 clip. She has 52 total blocks for an average of 0.93 per set.
Blackwood leads the league with an average of 4.30 digs per set. She has totaled 474 on the season in 110 sets played. The senior has tallied double figures in digs on 26 occasions and has posted 20 or more digs in 10 matches. She leads a Frog defensive effort that averages 16.14 digs per set, which is tops in the Mountain West Conference.
Out of her 474 total digs this season, 243 have come in league play, an average of 4.34 per set. In MWC play, the Frogs are averaging 16.71 digs per set.
Hudson ranks second on the squad with 254 kills this season, an average of 2.42 per set. She has tallied 118 digs on the year and ranks third on the team with 79 blocks. She has paced the team in kills in nine matches and in blocks on five occasions. Her .291 attack percentage ranks ninth in the league.
In league play, the junior is hitting .340 with an average of 1.87 kills per set. She has tallied 61 digs for an average of 1.09 per set.
