
Rifle Heads To The Citadel

FORT WORTH, Texas - Coming off a record-breaking performance last week at Murray State, the TCU rifle team will head back east for a match-up against The Citadel. Saturday's match will wrap up a two-match road swing for the Horned Frogs. Also taking part in the four-team tournament will be Ole Miss and N.C. State
SCOUTING THE FROGS
Four school records fell in the Frogs 4,660-4,604 victory over Murray State. The team aggregate score set a new school record as did the 2,364 in air rifle. Caitlin Morrissey led the team with an aggregate score of 1,074, which is also a new school record.
Morrissey led the team with a 1074 aggregate score as she set two personal best scores with a 581 in smallbore and 593 in air rifle. Sarah Scherer set a new team record and personal best in air rifle with a 596. She finished second in the match with an aggregate score of 1,073.
SCOUTING THE CITADEL BULLDOGS
The Citadel has a pair of victories to go with two second place finishes and a fifth place finish this season.
The shooters to watch for are Winston Dorian as he has been the top shooter in three of the five competitions and John Charlton, who placed eighth in their last competition.
SCOUTING THE NC STATE WOLFPACK
N.C. State is the top team in the Southeastern Air Rifle Conference with two victories over the other four members. Outside of those two victories, the Wolfpack have notched four second place finishes in their other four matches, all of which were on the road.
Rachel Jones and William Teller are the shooters to watch for as they've topped the Wolfpack shooters in each of the last two competitions.
SCOUTING THE OLE MISS REBELS
TCU has squared off against the Rebels once this season in Oxford, coming away with a victory. The Rebels will be looking for their first win of the campaign as they have dropped their last three tilts.
In their last match, the Rebels were led by Keely Stankey in smallbore. Colleen Tillson paced the team in air rifle.
