TCU Selects Student-Athletes of the Week

FORT WORTH, Texas - TCU volleyball senior libero Katelyn Blackwood and football senior wide receiver Ryan Christian have been selected as the TCU Student-Athletes of the Week.Blackwood helped the Frogs to a pair of league victories against BYU and Utah over the weekend to help the volleyball team maintain its second-place standing in the conference.
In a 3-0 win over BYU, Blackwood tallied a match-high 22 digs and pitched in with one assist. She helped the Frogs to a 3-1 victory over Utah on Saturday with 18 digs and two service aces.
On the week, Blackwood averaged 5.71 digs per set.
Christian had 106 yards receiving on three catches, including touchdowns of 44 and 29 yards, at San Diego State.
It was the first two receiving scores of Christian's career and his first 100-yard receiving game. His 106 yards surpassed the 57 yards he had on nine catches for the season entering the game. Two of the three-longest receptions of Christian's career came Saturday with 44- and 33-yard grabs.
Christian is a native of Aledo, Texas.
