FORT WORTH, Texas -- The TCU Athletics Department selected Jennifer Ferguson and Tejay Johnson as its Student-Athletes of the Week for their efforts this past weekend for the Horned Frogs.
Ferguson swept the diving events in the Frogs' opening dual meets against Colorado State, Air Force and Northern Colorado. At CSU, the Beaconsfield, Quebec, product scored 285.44 in six dives in the one-meter, while registering a scorecard of 308.70 to take the three-meter event. Ferguson followed that output by toppling Air Force and UNC in the three-meter dive with a score of 301.20 and garnered top honors from the one-meter springboard with a 273.60 scorecard.
Johnson keyed TCU's defensive effort which limited BYU to 298 yards of offense and BYU quarterback Max Hall to his lowest passing total (162 yards) since 2007. The junior totaled a team-best and game-high 14 tackles, doubling his previous career-high of seven tackles, and serving as the most by a Horned Frog since Marvin White had 14 in the 2006 season opener at Baylor.
