BOULDER CITY, Nev. -- Melissa Loh carded a career-best 70, while Brooke Beeler added a 71 to lead TCU into a tie for 10th place after Monday's opening round of the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown.
With three birdies and just one bogey, Loh had her second straight career-low round. The junior from Singapore equaled a personal best with a 72 in last week's final round of the Mercedes Benz Collegiate Championships.
Beeler's 71 included a team-high four birdies.
Loh is tied for seventh, four strokes behind the 67 shot by leaders Alice Kim of UC Davis and Kelli Shean of Arkansas. Beeler is tied for 12th.
Valentine Derrey and Allyson Ferguson posted a 75 and 77, respectively, for TCU.
TCU's 5-over-par 293 is 10 shots off the pace set by Louisville. With a 283, the Cardinals hold a one-stroke lead over Arizona and UC Davis.
