FORT WORTH, Texas -- The TCU women's golf team will begin its final fall tournament Monday at the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown in Boulder City, Nev.
This will be the fifth straight fall TCU has played in the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown and the second consecutive year it's being held at the par 72, 6,233-yard Boulder Creek Golf Club.
At last year's event, TCU shot a school-record 859 to finish in a three-way tie for seventh. The Horned Frogs' second-round 283 tied a TCU mark.
The 54-hole tournament will be played over three days. Tee times begin Monday at 7:30 a.m. PST. Live scoring is available at www.Golfstat.com.
In addition to No. 37 TCU and host UNLV, the 17-team field includes Arizona, Arkansas, BYU, Colorado, Colorado State, Florida, Idaho, Kent State, Louisville, Minnesota, Missouri, Northwestern, Texas Tech, UC Davis and Washington.
The Horned Frogs' lineup features senior Valentine Derrey, juniors Allyson Ferguson and Melissa Loh, sophomore Brooke Beeler and freshman Louise Kristersson.
Beeler and Derrey rank third and fifth in the Mountain West Conference with strokes averages of 74.8 and 75.0, respectively. They will be the lone Horned Frogs to play in all five fall events.
Loh equaled a career best with a final-round 72 at last week's Mercedes Benz Collegiate Championships. Beeler was 10th overall with a 4-over-par 220.
Kristersson, a freshman from Skivarp, Sweden, will be playing in her second collegiate event and first since the season-opening Hooters Collegiate Match Play Championships (Sept. 6-8).
TCU has posted three top-10 finishes in its four fall tournaments.
