Harkins Garners Mountain West Weekly Honor

FORT WORTH, Texas -- Senior Macall Harkins was named the Mountain West Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week, the league office announced on Wednesday.
Harkins, a senior from Palos Verdes, Calif., tallied a 3-1 overall record as 25th-ranked TCU's went 1-1 in its opening week of the spring season. Playing at the No. 2 singles position, she defeated No. 82 Emily Fraser from Virginia in three sets, 6-1, 5-7, 6-4, and No. 79 Ragini Acharya of William & Mary in straight sets, 7-6, 6-3. In doubles play, Harkins and partner Anna Sydorska beat William & Mary's top tandem of Acharaya and Katarina Zoricic, 8-4.
Harkins and the Frogs will now prepare to take on Georgia Tech in the opening round of the ITA National Team Indoor Championships in Atlanta, Ga.
