
TCU hits road for two conferences matches

Complete Release in PDF Format FORT WORTH, Texas - The TCU Horned Frogs will try and use the momentum from a successful preseason as they enter the heart of the conference season. The Frogs will hit the road for two MWC matches at UNLV and San Diego State. TCU opens up Thursday night at 9 p.m. (CST) against the Rebels before wrapping up the week against the Aztecs on Saturday at 2 p.m. (CST).
TCU vs. UNLV Series History
The Frogs and the Rebels will be meeting for the ninth time in the series history. UNLV holds a commanding 7-1 series lead, having won six straight. TCU is 0-4 all-time in Las Vegas. The Frogs lone win in the series came at home in 1998.
TCU vs. San Diego State Series History
Saturday's match-up will be the ninth between the Aztecs and the Frogs. Despite trailing the series, 5-3, the Frogs have won two straight and 3-of-the-last-4. TCU is 1-3 all-time in San Diego after picking up its first win a year ago.
Big Digger
Katelyn Blackwood put herself in rare company in a 3-2 win over North Carolina on Saturday. The junior libero racked up a career-high 32 digs making her just one of three Frogs to have a 30-dig performance in her career. It has happened five times before. Her mark of 32 is the fourth-highest in school history.
Offensive Minded
Through four weeks of play, the Horned Frogs are the top offensive club in the league. They lead the league with a .257 hitting percentage, 13.45 kills per game and 12.49 assists per game. Devon Kirk's .388 hitting percentage is also tops in the league.
Movin' On Up
Kourtney Edwards continued her upward climb on the all-time block charts as she took sole possession of third place this past weekend. She surpassed Jennifer Sebastian's career total of 326 and is now 50 blocks away from tying Anna Vaughn for second place. Allyson Lynch is the all-time leader with 445.
An Impressive Streak
TCU's is an impressive 79-1 under Coach Lewis in matches when they take a 2-0 lead. Even better is the 30-game winning streak they have when leading 2-0. The Frogs last loss when up 2-0 was on Aug. 29,2006 at UT-Arlington.
