
Kirk Named MWC Co-Player of the Week

FORT WORTH, Texas - TCU middle blocker Devon Kirk has been named MWC Co-Player of the Week for her performance in helping lead the Frogs to a 3-1 record last week. The honor is the first for the senior and the first for the Frogs this season.
Kirk, a Katy, Texas, native, helped the Horned Frogs to a 3-1 record on the week, including a five-set win over conference foe New Mexico and two wins at the Gopher Invitational in Minneapolis, Minn. She earned all-tournament honors for her efforts in the tournament.
Against the Lobos, the 6-0 senior had 10 kills (.500 hitting percentage), two blocks, one assist, one dig and one ace.
In the opening match of the Gopher Invite vs. then-No. 8 Minnesota, Kirk collected six kills, three blocks, three digs and one assist in a four-set loss. She followed with a career-high tying 12 kills, two digs, one block and one assist in a five-set win over North Carolina.
In the Horned Frogs' final match of the tournament, Kirk knocked down six kills with no errors (.545 hitting efficiency), while notching four blocks and three digs in a sweep of Winthrop.
On the week, Kirk averaged 2.00 kills with a hitting percentage of .400 (34-6-70). She also had 10 total blocks and nine digs in 17 sets played.
Kirk shared the honor with Colorado State middle blocker Mekana Barnes.
