Head Coach Jeff Mittie's annual girls' basketball camps kick off this week on the TCU campus. Currently in session are the Point Guard Leadership Camp, for players grades 7 through 12, and the Day Camp, which is designed for younger players.
Time is quickly running out to reserve spots in the Individual Camp (June 18-21) and Elite Camp (June 26-27).
Mittie's Day Camp began Saturday, June 14 and runs through Tuesday, June 17. Two different sessions are being offered in the morning (9 a.m.-12 p.m.) and afternoon (1-4 p.m.). The camp was designed to help younger players with their games.
The Point Guard Leadership Camp, which began Sunday, June 15 and runs through Wednesday, June 18, is being offered to players grades 7-12 for the purpose of teaching leadership skills and fundamentals at the point guard position. Guest speakers at the camp include Pat Richie, a well-known speaker and founder of the Sports Leadership Group, and Matt Johnson, Director of the Sports Psychology program at Texas Christian University.
The upcoming Individual Camp is also for players grades 7-12 and focuses on improving individual skills during the day activities. Team competitions will be held each evening. TCU's Elite Camp, a new session offered this summer, is designed for advanced high school players. To reserve a spot in either the Individual Camp, Elite Camp or both sessions, call the TCU women's basketball office at (817) 343-7962 or visit the TCU Camps website at the following link:
