TCU junior defender Sara Schneider once again sat down with GoFrogs.com this week and gave fans an inside look into the spring season. This is the fourth installment of Schneider's weekly journal.
Fourth Installment
In my eyes you can take Saturday's game as a loss or a learning experience. We have decided to take the latter. Personally, the whole day was eye opening and educational. Before our game the coaches, girls and I went out to help with the Panda Cup 2008 International Soccer Tournament. Playing and working with some of the kids and adults participating really made me appreciate the passion people have for this sport.
The relationships created within this soccer league mirror the great relationships that I have built with these girls. Our combined competitive passion and love for each other is more important than any win or loss that we face.
During the spring we donate our time to helping charities and organizations in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. We recently went to Girls, Inc. and helped them prepare for their Women in Sports Day. We will also be visiting the KinderFrogs School on campus. Katie Taylor, the middle back for us, visits the school twice a week on her own time. I love her passion for others and the thought that she can make someone's day better by playing or talking with them. She is totally amazing and inspiring.
We will be playing Texas Tech at Pizza Hut Park this Saturday. Texas Tech has always been a major rival for us, so it should be a great game to play and watch.
