FORT WORTH, Texas -- TCU offensive guard Matty Lindner has signed a free-agent contract with the Kansas City Chiefs.
Lindner is the fifth Horned Frog from the 2007 senior class to ink a free-agent NFL deal. The others are safety/return specialist Brian Bonner (San Diego Chargers), linebacker David Hawthorne (Seattle Seahawks), defensive end Chase Ortiz (Cleveland Browns) and safety David Roach (New Orleans Saints).
TCU has now had 35 players sign NFL contracts in the seven-year tenure of head coach Gary Patterson.
At left guard, Lindner started all but one game over the last two seasons. The Comfort, Texas, native was a three-year letterman. He was a second-team All-Mountain West Conference selection in 2006 when he allowed just one sack on the year.
Lindner will be joined on the Kansas City offensive line by former TCU teammates Anthony Alabi and Herb Taylor.
Alabi joined the Chiefs this offseason after three years with the Miami Dolphins. A two-time first-team All-MWC pick, Taylor was a sixth-round selection of Kansas City in 2007. He played in two games as a rookie this past season.
