POST-GAME QUOTESAir Force-TCU
March 5, 2008
Fort Worth, Texas--Daniel-Meyer Coliseum
Head Coach Jeff Mittie
Opening statement
"It was a bit of a slow start, but I thought the one thing (the Frogs) did a good job of was keeping their emotions in check. So many times in these games you see them get ahead of themselves because they're so excited, you see 10 turnovers, and you're fighting those things. I thought we did a better job of keeping those things in check."
On Air Force
"Air Force plays a style of defense where they switch things. It does take a little while to get into a rhythm, so I think the smart thing to do is make simple passes and let yourself work through that. I think we did that."
On starting all five seniors
"I've had groups of all five seniors before where you couldn't do that because maybe you have three post players. That group is on the floor in games at times together, so it's not that much different. I wanted them to start the game, and I thought it would be neat for them to end the game on the floor at the same time."
On the possibility of playing Air Force again in the conference tournament
"If you had asked me two weeks ago it appeared certain ways. Then Air Force beat BYU, and it muddied things up again. I'm not really concerned about that. We have an improving BYU team on Saturday, and we want to end the year as strong as we can. The goal is always to end the year with some momentum."
Senior forward Jenna Lohse
On playing with her fellow seniors for the last time
"It was kind of emotional. Our emotions were flowing a little at the start, but overall I thought it was a fun night. Seeing our friends, family and talking with the fans was a good time."
"I liked how we got to play together, at the start and at the end."
Senior guard Helen Roden
On senior night
"Playing together at the beginning was kind of a shock to us, but then we got used to it. We have a lot of experienced seniors and we just settled into the game."
