
Horned Frogs set to face Oklahoma on Wednesday

FORT WORTH, Texas - The No. 29 TCU men's tennis team will return from a nine-day layoff to play host to No. 35 Oklahoma on Wednesday at 6 p.m. at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center. The Horned Frogs are currently 9-1 this season, while the Sooners are 4-3 overall.TCU is led by senior Cosmin Cotet, who is ranked No. 21 nationally after beginning the season with a 9-1 record. In his last two matches, Cotet has defeated No. 46 Raoul Schwark of Minnesota and No. 10 Oleksandr Nedovyesov. TCU freshmen Adrian Simon and Zach Nichols are also ranked No. 115 and No. 122, respectively. Nichols, a native of Austin, Texas, is a combined 20-0 this season.
The Sooners are led by sophomore Andrei Daescu, who is ranked No. 27 in singles play. The Oklahoma doubles duo of Daescu and Federico Chavarria is ranked No. 28. Oklahoma last played on Feb. 28, when they fell to No. 23 Tulsa by a score of 5-2.
The Horned Frogs and Sooners have met 10 times in the series history, with TCU holding a commanding 8-2 advantage. Wednesday's match will mark the first meeting between the two schools since the 1990 season.
