
TCU football to begin spring practice

FORT WORTH, Texas -- The TCU football team begins spring practice Tuesday at 4 p.m.
Per NCAA rules, the Horned Frogs will have 15 practices. Drills conclude April 12 with the Spring Game.
Led by quarterbacks Andy Dalton and Marcus Jackson, TCU returns eight starters on offense. Included in that total are the Horned Frogs' top-two rushers in Joseph Turner and Aaron Brown as well as four starters on the offensive line. TCU placed third in the Mountain West Conference last season with an average of 386.6 yards per game in total offense.
The Frogs welcome back six starters on defense, including three-time All-MWC linebackers Jason Phillips and Robert Henson. Safety Stephen Hodge, the nation's sack leader among defensive backs last season, anchors the secondary. TCU placed among the top 15 nationally last season in scoring defense (18.7 points per game), run defense (103.5 yards per game), pass defense efficiency (107.8 rating), sacks (41) and total defense (323.6 yards per game).
