H20 Relay Teams Perform Well in Atlanta

Atlanta - TCU's relay teams flirted with program records Friday at the 2008 ConocoPhillips Short Course National Championships at the Georgia Tech Aquatic Center.
The Horned Frogs' 800-free relay teams shined on the second day of action is Atlanta. The women's relay squad of Ashley Bolin, Kaitlyn Vann, Lindsey Stevens and Stephanie Futscher recorded an impressive showing, notching the school's third-fastest time of 7:30.63 to finish 14th out of 27 teams in the final. Bolin, a freshman from Oshkosh, Wis., led off the event and turned in a time of 1:51.15, the second-best finish in TCU history and just .05 behind Maria Paula Alvarez' school record.
On the men's side, the relay quartet of Ben Biefnes, Edgar Peyro, Josh Bagby and Ben Iannacone also represented TCU well with a time of 6:47.67. Biefnes, an Aurora, Colo., native, set a personal-best time in the 200-free with his lead-off time of 1:42.77. Also on Friday, the men's 200-medley relay of Jack Doran, Biefnes, Peyro and Bagby turned in a finish of 1:32.74 to place 14th out of 23 schools.
