
Hampton and Hudson Earn All-Conference Accolades

FORT WORTH, Texas - Senior setter Nirelle Hampton and sophomore right-side hitter Christy Hudson were each tabbed 2008 MWC All-Conference honorees; it was announced Tuesday by the league. The honors are the first for Hampton and Hudson and the first time TCU has had two all-conference members in the Mountain West.
In her senior campaign, Hampton helped guide the Frogs to a tie for fourth place with a 9-7 record. For the season, she averaged 1.13 kills per game, 9.76 assists per game and 2.0 digs per game.
Hampton elevated her game in conference play, averaging 1.29 kills per game, 9.93 assists per game and 2.32 digs per game. In addition to that she helped the Frogs average over two blocks per game with .55 blocks per set.
Hudson put together a solid year as a sophomore, establishing career highs across the board. For the season, she led the team with a .346 attack percentage, averaged 2.18 kills per set and 1.43 digs per set.
In league play, she hit .402 with an average of 2.38 kills per game and 1.04 digs per set.
The duo join LeMeita Smith, who earned all-conference accolades in 2007, as TCU's three all-conference honorees in the Mountain West.
