
Kigen Represents TCU at Nationals

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - Festus Kigen closed out his junior campaign on Monday crossing the finish line in 136th-place at the 2008 NCAA Championships in Terre Haute, Ind.Kigen, who was recently named to the 2008 South Central Region cross country team, clocked a time of 31:09.6 to place 136th out of 252 competitors at the LaVern Gibson Championship Course.
By running on Monday, Kigen, who ran at nationals for a second-consecutive season, became the fifth TCU runner in the past six years to compete at the NCAA Championships.
Overall, Galen Rupp of Oregon won the individual title by recording a time of 29:03.2, while Liberty's Samuel Chelanga earned runner-up honors with a time of 29:08.0. On the men's side, Oregon won the national title with 93 points, while Iona finished in second-place with 147 total points.
