
Volleyball Wraps Up League Play at New Mexico

FORT WORTH, Texas - The TCU Volleyball team will wrap up Mountain West Conference action Friday night at New Mexico. Match time is slated for 8 p.m. (CST). The Lobos (10-7 are one game ahead of the Frogs (9-6) in the standing. New Mexico is third in the MWC, while TCU is in fourth place.
Series History
The Frogs and the Lobos have met on the court nine previous times, with New Mexico holding a 6-3 advantage. The past two and a half years have seen the teams split the season series with each team winning on their home court. The trend continued as the Frogs held serve on their home court to open the conference season. The Frogs hope to end the trend and will be in search of its first-ever win in Albuquerque.
An Impressive Streak
TCU's is an impressive 87-1 under Coach Lewis in matches when they take a 2-0 lead. Even better is the 36-game winning streak they have when leading 2-0. The Frogs last loss when up 2-0 was on Aug. 29,2006 at UT-Arlington.
On The Road Again
The road has been a familiar place for TCU this season as it has played 16 matches away from Fort Worth this season. The Frogs are a combined 10-6 on the road, including a 6-5 record on an opponents court. TCU has three road matches remaining in 2008.
20 And Counting
TCU's win over Air Force gave it victory No. 20 on the season. It marks the fourth time in school history and the second straigh season in which the team has collected at least 20 wins. With three games remaining, TCU has a chance to tie the school record of 23 wins.
