TCU rifle victorious against Army

West Point, N.Y.- The woman's rifle team won its second straight match today against Army in West Point, N.Y. by a score of 4,633-4620. The win today puts the team at 5-1 for the season. The team tied the black knights in air rifle but managed to score 13 more points than their competition on the way to the win. Leading the Horned Frogs in today's match was junior, Erin Lorenzen. The Indiana native fired a 580 in smallbore and 587 in air rifle.
As usual the Frogs posted very consistent scores. Along with Lorenzen's smallbore score of 580, Simone Riford shot a score of 575 placing third overall against Army. Tanya Gorin, the team's only senior on the team turned in a 573. TCU claimed three of the top-five smallbore places. Mattie Brogdon posted a 569.
Lauren Sullivan and Erin Lorenzen fired two scores of 587, placing second overall in air rifle. Simone Riford rounded out the top-five places with a strong score of 584. Separated by only two points, Mattie Brogdon and Tanya Gorin turned in scores of 578 and 576 respectively.
Emily Paper also chipped in two 563's in air rifle and smallbore.
The Horned Frogs will return home for their next match to take on the Kentucky Wildcats next week. The match will end the fall campaign for the team.
