FORT WORTH, Texas - The TCU Horned Frogs take to the road this weekend for two key conference match-ups. Thursday night will see the Frogs take on their third ranked opponent of the season at No. 13 Colorado State. On Saturday, TCU will head to Laramie for a meeting with Wyoming. Both matches are slated for an 8 p.m. (CST) first serve.
TCU vs. Colorado State
The Frogs and the Rams will be meeting for the 12th time in school history. Colorado State holds a 9-2 advantage in the previous 11 meetings, however the Frogs came away with a come-from-behind victory over the No. 17 Rams in the final game of the regular season in 2007. TCU is 0-5 all-time in Fort Collins.
TCU vs. Wyoming
The Cowgirls hold an 8-3 series advantage, however, the teams have split the last three season home-and-home meetings. The Frogs have won the last three meetings in Fort Worth, while Wyoming has come away victorious in Laramie. TCU is winless in five tries at Wyoming.
An Impressive Streak
TCU's is an impressive 81-1 under Coach Lewis in matches when they take a 2-0 lead. Even better is the 32-game winning streak they have when leading 2-0. The Frogs last loss when up 2-0 was on Aug. 29,2006 at UT-Arlington.
Road Warriors
The Horned Frogs will log a lot of miles this season as they play 20 of their 32 matches away from Fort Worth. All added up the Frogs will log approximately 15,399 travel miles this season.
On The Road Again
The Frogs are a combined 8-3 on the road this season, including a 4-2 mark on an opponents' home court. They have shined offensively, tallying 13.2 kills per set and hitting at a .226 clip. Defensively, they've averaged 14.2 digs per set and 2.25 blocks per game.
Off To A Good Start
The Frogs are 3-2 and tied for third in the league. A lot of the success is due to an impressive offensive punch. Collectively, the team is averaging 13.9 kills per set. Defense has been strong as well with 16.4 digs per set and 2.06 blocks per game. Saturday, they picked up their first-ever win over BYU.
