Team Notes
*TCU improved to 6-1, matching its best start to a season since 2004.
*TCU improved to 47-0 when allowing 17 or fewer points under head coach Gary Patterson. Overall, the Horned Frogs have won 62 consecutive games when holding the opponent to 17 points or less.
*TCU kept the Rams off the scoreboard through the game's final three quarters. The Frogs, which still have not allowed a fourth-quarter point this season, have outscored their opponents 62-0 in the final period alone this season.
*TCU won the coin toss and deferred. The Frogs are now 6-0 when winning the toss and 0-1 when losing it.
*TCU allowed a touchdown on the opponent's opening drive of the game for only the fourth time in its last 22 contests. Two of those occasions were in Fort Collins, this afternoon as well as the Frogs' 2006 visit to Colorado State.
*TCU was +1 in turnover margin Saturday and is now +9 on the season. Over the last four seasons, TCU is 30-1 when ahead (26-1) or even (4-0) in that category.
*TCU won for the 26th time in their last 27 games when holding the edge in time of possession. The Frogs, who entered the game leading the nation in time of possession, held the ball for 32:46.
*The Frogs improved to 32-4 in Saturday games over the last four seasons.
*TCU held the Rams to minus-38 yards rushing through the final three quarters after CSU had amassed 49 yards on the ground in the first quarter. The Rams finished the game with on 11 yards rushing.
*The TCU defense totaled five sacks, 10 tackles for loss and two interceptions vs. the Rams.
*TCU allowed only 199 yards of offense Saturday, marking the fifth time in seven games that the Frogs have held their opponent under the 200-yard mark.
Individual Notes
*Left guard Kyle Dooley made his first collegiate start.
*Tailback Aaron Brown's 6-yard first-quarter scoring run was his first touchdown of the season. It was his 18th career rushing score and 23rd collegiate touchdown.
*A second-quarter 45-yard completion from quarterback Marcus Jackson to wideout Walter Bryant represented the Frogs' longest pass play of the season. The previous long was a 33-yard connection from Jackson to tight end Shae Reagan last week against San Diego State.
*Bryant's 60 yards receiving on two catches on a second-quarter scoring drive surpassed his season total of 59 receiving yards on 10 grabs entering the game.
*Tailback Joseph Turner's 3-yard second-quarter scoring run was his team-high ninth rushing touchdown of the season and the 16th of his career.
*Linebacker Robert Henson's second-quarter interception was his third career pick. He had two interceptions last season.
*Defensive end Jerry Hughes tied a career high set last week with two sacks. The effort helped Hughes raise his season total to seven sacks.
*Safety Sir Demarco Bledsoe notched his first career sack to end a critical CSU drive at the Ram 38-yard line on a 4th-and-10 play with 1:39 remaining.
*Linebacker Daryl Washington pulled in his first career interception with under 30 seconds remaining in the contest to seal the TCU victory.
*Punter Anson Kelton landed four of his seven punts inside the CSU 20-yard line. Kelton has pinned the opponent inside its own 20-yard line in all but one game this season (Stephen F. Austin, punted only once).
