
Girton resigns for position at South Carolina

FORT WORTH, Texas -- TCU associate athletics director and senior woman administrator Marcy Girton has announced her resignation to become chief of staff in the University of South Carolina athletics department.Girton has been at TCU for nine years, overseeing the athletics compliance program, departmental policies, athletics financial aid and the Student-Athlete Advisory Council. She also had sport oversight for women's basketball, soccer, equestrian and men's and women's tennis. Girton was named the Teammate of the Year by the TCU Athletics Department following the 2001-02 academic year.
"We thank Marcy for her outstanding work and contribution to TCU," Horned Frogs' athletics director Danny Morrison said. "We wish her the absolute best in her new role. Marcy provided tremendous leadership for us and will be missed."
Girton will continue at TCU through the end of January.
