
Helena Besovic hired as Penn State assistant coach

FORT WORTH, Texas - Former TCU women's tennis standout Helena Besovic has joined the Penn State women's tennis staff as an assistant coach. Besovic played for the Horned Frogs from 2004-2006.
Besovic will join new head coach Dawna Prevette, who was previously an assistant coach with the Baylor women's tennis team.
Besovic has been competing in the pro circuit, where she earned a career high singles ranking of No. 733 and a career high doubles ranking of No. 659 in 2007. The Sarajevo, Bosnia, native also claimed two doubles titles on the pro circuit this summer.
While at TCU, Besovic tallied an overall singles record of 67-19 and a dual record at the top two positions of 44-10. Besovic's 36 single-season singles victories in 2006 place second in TCU history. Besovic finished the 2006 season ranked No. 29 in the nation and was named the ITA Senior Player of the Year.
