FORT WORTH, Texas - The TCU Horned Frogs will look to rebound from a midweek loss on Friday night when they return to conference action on the road at New Mexico. The match is slated for a 7:30 p.m. start and will be televised tape-delayed on The Mtn. (Channel 34 on campus) at 9:30 p.m.
The TCU vs. New Mexico Series
New Mexico holds a 5-1 series advantage. The Frogs lone win in the series came in Fort Worth in 2006 when they swept the Lobos. New Mexico exacted revenge later in the year, taking a 3-0 decision on its home court. Of the six previous matches, only one has gone more than three games.
Leading The Way
Kourtney Edwards has put together a solid sophomore campaign, leading the in most statistical categories. She is averaging 3.51 kills per game and ranks fifth in the conference with 1.31 blocks per contest. She saw a string of 11 straight matches with 10 or more kills snapped Tuesday night at Texas State.
Joining The 1,000 Dig Club
Seniors Calli Corley and Loren Barry reached a milestone last week as they both tallied their 1,000th career dig. Only four other Frogs in school history had reached that milestone in their careers. Corley is on pace to be the all-time leader. She needs just 56 digs to surpass Marci King for the title.
Matching A Record
Last season through 18 games, the Frogs stood at 13-5 but the Frogs have surpassed that feat with 15 wins through the first part of the season. The Frogs have matched their best start in the MWC at 2-1.
