FORT WORTH, Texas-After a promising first season in which its qualified for the Varsity Equestrian National Championship, the TCU equestrian team will take to the road for its first three games of the season beginning Friday.
On the docket for the weekend is Auburn, South Carolina and Georgia. Auburn will be first up for the Frogs. TCU has fond memories of its last meeting with the Lady Tigers, as TCU won the match, 9-7, over the then-defending national champions.
After Auburn comes a team TCU became fairly familiar with towards the end of last season, as the Frogs will travel to Columbia, S.C. to take on the Gamecocks. The meeting will mark the third time in TCU's last four games overall that the two schools have matched up.
They met in the regular-season finale and in the first round of the Western National Championship. South Carolina edged out the Frogs in both contests. TCU will be looking to defeat the defending national championship winner for the second year in a row, as South Carolina won the title last year.
The Frogs finish the weekend with a trip to Georgia, as the two teams meet for the first time ever. Frog Senior, Jessica Bailey was a member of the Bulldogs for two seasons prior to coming to TCU.
"I am really excited," Bailey said. "That is a great facility and I had many friends there that I do not get to see often. Some have graduated, but I know a few of them are coming back for the meet."
The match against Auburn begins Friday at 2 p.m. You can follow all the action at GoFrogs.com
