Significant progress continues to be visible on the upgrades to several of TCU's athletics facilities.As the Horned Frog football team prepares to host Baylor in Saturday's 5 p.m. season opener, four concrete columns are now in place that will provide the support for the Athletics Complex Renovation Project in the south end zone of Amon G. Carter Stadium. Structural steel work, along with floor and roof decking, will begin in mid-September.
New LED scoreboards were installed this week at TCU's home venues for football and soccer, while the volleyball, tennis and swimming and diving facilities will follow.
A remodel of the rifle range will include sound-deadening materials, lockers and electronic targets. Lupton Stadium, TCU's baseball home, is having a drainage system and padded permeter wall added in time for the 2008 campaign.
The Daniel-Meyer Coliseum is in the midst of having a new air conditioning system installed.
