You have excelled academically at TCU. How do you balance your studies and football?
"From the start, the coaches and the athletic academic services office do a great job of teaching and helping us organize our time."
Now that you have been at tight end for a couple of years, do you feel more comfortable than when you first moved there?
"I do, and all of us are getting better every day. I guess that's what makes the game fun, knowing you can come in and get better every day."
Does having played quarterback now help you as a tight end?
"It has helped. When you are a quarterback, you have to understand what everyone is doing defensively. That has helped me a lot as far as learning blocking schemes and some of our read routes."
How would you describe the campus life at TCU?
"Everything is great. The teachers do an outstanding job of working with you and trying to make the atmosphere as friendly and family-like as possible."
Did you welcome the start of classes on Monday?
"It's bittersweet. It's a change in the routine which is always nice but, then again, it is the routine of school."
What about playing for Coach Patterson? What does he mean to you on and off the field?
"Coach Patterson is an intense guy, and the players feed off of that. We take that focus into practice and the classroom every day."
What do TCU fans not know about you? Do you have a hidden talent or hobby?
"I love music and playing the guitar. Right now, I am liking old classic rock like Jimi Hendrix."
