Throughout the summer, GoFrogs.com will catch up with members of the women's basketball team as they prepare for the 2007-08 season. Recently, GoFrogs.com visited with guard Danielle Nunn, who is preparing for her sophomore season with the Lady Frogs.
As a freshman, the Arlington, Texas, native played in 29 games, averaging 5.4 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.2 steals.
GoFrogs.com: What area of your game are you trying to improve most this summer?
Danielle Nunn: My shooting
GF:What was your favorite game last season?
DN:The Maryland game (11/17/06) was my favorite because it was my first college game and it was against the defending NCAA Champions.
GF:If you could play any other collegiate sport, what would you play?
DN:I would play soccer because it was the first sport that I played growing up and I liked playing it.
GF: Who is your favorite WNBA player of all-time?
DN: Sheryl Swoopes (Houston Comets)
GF: Who is the best player you ever faced?
DN: Armentie Price of Ole Miss in last year's NCAA Tournament
GF: Who is the player you tried to model your game after as a kid?
DN: I tried to model my game after Gary Payton (Seattle SuperSonics) because I pride myself on defense and he was a great defender.
GF: If you were in charge of the women's basketball rules committee for a day, what if anything would you change?
DN: I would make it a rule that teams would have eight seconds to get the ball across half court.
GF: Where is the hardest place you played during your freshman season?
DN: Wyoming is the hardest place I have played because of the altitude and the crowd.
GF: Where is your favorite place to play outside of Daniel-Meyer Coliseum?
DN: I liked playing at San Diego State. Everything is so nice there, including the gym.
