
Andrus and Hecht inducted into NFF National Honor Society

IRVING, Texas -- Former TCU tight ends Chad Andrus and Brent Hecht have been inducted into the inaugural class of the National Football Foundation's National Honor Society.Andrus and Hecht received selection in recognition of their accomplishments academically and athletically.
As a graduate student in the 2006 season, Andrus started six games. The Keller, Texas, native had six receptions for 50 yards, including a 13-yard touchdown catch in a 31-17 win at Army. Andrus totaled 24 career grabs for 232 yards and three scores. He made 14 starts.
Andrus received the 2005 TCU football team's G. Malcolm Louden Academic Achievement Award. He was also named the 2005-06 male recipient of TCU's Dutch Meyer Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
Hecht was a two-year letterman after transferring from Butler County Community College. He totaled 11 receptions for 149 yards and three touchdowns in the 2006 campaign. His final catch as a Frog was a 6-yard scoring grab in the 37-7 Poinsettia Bowl victory over Northern Illinois. Hecht also had touchdown receptions against Colorado State and BYU. His score against the Rams came on a 54-yard connection.
A native of Bern, Kan., Hecht was the 2006 recipient of the G. Malcolm Louden Academic Achievement Award. He made nine starts and totaled 17 receptions for 205 yards and four touchdowns in his two seasons at TCU.
