FORT WORTH, Texas - The No. 74 TCU men's tennis team will play host to No. 41 Wisconsin on Tuesday night at 6 p.m. at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center. The Frogs will look to win their sixth match in the last eight contests.
The Horned Frogs (6-10, 2-1) kicked off conference play last weekend by winning two of the three contests, ending with a tough 4-3 loss to No. 52 San Diego State. The Badgers are currently 9-7 on the season, and are coming off of a 4-3 loss to Michigan on March 24. Wisconsin will face SMU on Monday night before arriving in Fort Worth on Tuesday.
Junior Cosmin Cotet is currently ranked No. 106 in singles by the Fila/ITA rankings, and Cotet and sophomore Kriegler Brink team are ranked No. 23 in doubles. Jeremy Sonkin of Wisconsin is ranked No. 98, and the Badger duo of Nolan Polley and Moritz Baumann is ranked No. 44 in the country.
Christopher Biro currently leads the Frogs with a 9-6 singles mark. Biro, a native of Adelaide, Australia, has won six of his last seven matches, including a victory over No. 92 Christian Groh of San Diego State on Sunday.
TCU and Wisconsin have only met twice in the overall series, with each school sporting a victory. The last meeting took place on March 15, 2003, in Coral Gables, Fla., where No. 32 TCU cruised to a 7-0 victory. The only other meeting took place in Fort Worth in 1974, where the Badgers came away with a 4-3 win.
Free pizza will be provided to fans attending Tuesday's match. Live stats will be available at www.gofrogs.com.
