FORT WORTH, Texas - The TCU women's basketball team will conclude its regular season on Saturday, as first-place BYU visits Daniel-Meyer Coliseum to face the Lady Frogs at 2 p.m. on Senior Day.
TCU (20-9, 10-5 Mountain West Conference) enters Saturday's contest knowing it will be anywhere from a third to a fifth seed in the Mountain West Conference Tournament, which runs March 6-10 in Las Vegas. RV/RV BYU (21-7, 12-3 MWC) clinched the league title on Thursday with New Mexico losing at UNLV. Prior to New Mexico's loss, BYU had clinched at least a share of the league title with its 59-55 win over Utah on Wednesday.
Saturday's game will also mark the final home game for seniors Ashley Davis and Hanna Biernacka, who will be recognized during a postgame ceremony. In addition to the Senior Day presentation, sets of team trading cards will be given to fans and a three-point shooting contest between fraternities will take place at halftime.
The Lady Frogs have dropped four straight games to the Cougars and are bidding for their first win over BYU since 2003. TCU has dropped three straight at home to the Cougars and haven't won in Fort Worth since the series opener on Dec. 12, 1987. However, TCU is 14-1 at home this season and had a school-record 19-game home win streak prior to losing to Wyoming (61-50) in its last home game.
TCU enters Saturday's game following a 78-61 win at San Diego State on Wednesday, where the Lady Frogs scorched the nets by making 52.4 percent of their shots. BYU is coming off an emotional Senior Day win over rival Utah on Wednesday.
The game can be heard on 88.7 KTCU and www.gofrogs.com with Jeff Williams (play-by-play) and Marcy Girton (analyst) calling the action. Live stats and free video streaming from the game are also available on www.gofrogs.com.
Tickets can be purchased before the game and at the gate. Single-game tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for youth. Students get into the games for free by presenting a valid student ID.
