
TCU women's tennis ranked No. 17 in latest Fila/ITA poll

FORT WORTH, Texas - The TCU women's tennis team earned a No. 17 ranking in the latest Fila/ITA poll released on Tuesday. Ana Cetnik, Anna Sydorska and Nina Munch-Soegaard also earned individual rankings, while Cetnik and Sydorska set a school record with a No. 3 doubles ranking.
The women improved to 3-2 on the season with a pair of 5-2 victories over Texas State and UTA on Tuesday at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center. The Frogs will face a tough road test on Thursday when they travel to College Station, Texas, to face No. 27 Texas A&M.
The tandem of Cetnik and Sydorska jumped to No. 3 from their previous national ranking of No. 9. The duo is currently 2-1 on the season, including a win against the No. 19 pair of Amanda Fish and Amanda Taylor.
Cetnik also earned a national singles ranking of No. 20. The senior recorded a 3-0 record at the USTA/ITA National Women's Team Indoor Championships, with wins against three ranked opponents.
Sydorska, a sophomore from Lviv, Ukraine, moved up to No. 81 in singles after a previous singles ranking of No. 100. Sydorska is currently 3-2 in singles play, with a three-match winning streak. Sydorska first got into the win column with an upset of No. 24 Catherine Newman of Vanderbilt.
Munch-Soegaard, a native of Amarillo, Texas, earned a national singles ranking of No. 50 after starting her freshman season 4-1. At the USTA/ITA National Women's Team Indoor Championships, Munch-Soegaard recorded a 3-0 record, including two wins over nationally-ranked opponents.
