Since the start of the 2005 campaign, the Frogs are 24-3 when playing on Saturdays and 1-4 on Thursdays (the Frogs are 2-0 on other days of the week). TCU has dropped its last four Thursday games dating back to a 23-20 overtime win versus Utah in 2005.
TCU is playing on a short week for the third time this season. The Frogs are 0-2 on short weeks in 2007 and 5-3 under head coach Gary Patterson.
In the last two games, TCU's defense has allowed 346 total yards (173.0 per contest).
BYU is the only Mountain West Conference team to score more than 28 points on TCU since the Frogs began league play in 2005, a span of 21 games. The Cougars have actually done it twice, losing 51-50 in 2005 and winning 31-17 last season.
BYU has won 12-of-13 home games since TCU's 51-50 overtime win in Provo in 2005.
The 2005 victory at BYU represents the largest come-from-behind win in Patterson's seven-year tenure as TCU's head coach. The Frogs trailed by 18 points, 34-16, with less than two minutes to play in the third quarter.
Dating back to 2005, TCU has a seven-game winning streak in November contests.
THE SERIES
BYU holds a 4-2 lead over TCU in a series that started in 1987.
Since TCU began MWC play in 2005, the road team has won both meetings between the Frogs and Cougars. TCU rallied from an 18-point third-quarter deficit for a 51-50 overtime win in Provo in 2005, before a 31-17 BYU decision in Fort Worth last season.
The Cougars beat the Frogs twice (1996-97) when both teams were members of the Western Athletic Conference. Both those games were at TCU.
TCU is 1-1 versus the Cougars in Provo and 1-3 in Fort Worth.
ROAD WARRIORS
TCU is 19-10 (.655) in road and neutral-site games since the start of the 2003 season, placing 10th nationally.
The Frogs are 9-4 while allowing 19.0 points per game in their last 13 road contests.
BACK FROM THE BREAK
For the second straight season, TCU had a 16-day break in its schedule. The Frogs are looking to duplicate last year's success when they returned from the hiatus and posted eight straight wins to close the season.
In their first game back from the 16-day break in 2007, TCU defeated New Mexico 37-0.
TIES TO THE BEEHIVE STATE
TCU football coach Gary Patterson was the secondary coach at Utah State for three seasons (1992-94).
