COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Junior guard Adrianne Ross has been named the Mountain West Conference Co-Player of the Week as announced by the league office on Monday.
Ross earned the honor for her performance last week when she averaged 17.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 3.5 steals in TCU's victories over New Mexico (67-43) and San Diego State (83-57).
Against the Lobos on Wednesday, the Hobbs, N.M., native posted the first double-double of her career and was two assists shy of just the second triple-double in TCU history. Ross scored 16 points, grabbed a career-best 11 rebounds and matched a career high with eight assists. She also had five steals in the contest.
In the same game, Ross became the ninth player in TCU history to tally 1,000 points in her career.
Playing San Diego State on Sunday, Ross had a game-high 18 points on 7-of-10 shooting and had three rebounds, three assists and two steals.
The honor is the first of Ross' career and it is the third this season for the Lady Frogs (15-6, 5-2 MWC). Teammate Ashley Davis received player of the week honors on Dec. 4 and Dec. 26.
Sharing this week's honors as co-recipient with Ross was Utah guard Morgan Warburton.
On the week, Ross shot 10-for-24 (.417) from the floor and was 13-of-19 from the free-throw line. She totaled 34 points, 14 rebounds, 11 assists and seven steals.
A third-team All-MWC selection in 2006, Ross leads the Mountain West Conference in scoring with an average of 17.0 points per game and she has scored in double figures in 19 of 21 games this season.
TCU will play at BYU on Thursday at 8 p.m. CT. The game will be televised on CSTV.
