
TCU heads to North Texas Invitational

FORT WORTH, Texas - The TCU men's and women's cross country teams will head to Denton, Texas, on Saturday for the North Texas Invitational, which will be held at Eagle Point Golf Club. The meet will begin at 9 a.m. with the men's 4-mile race, followed by the women's 2-mile race at 9:30 a.m. The North Texas Invitational will mark TCU's first meet as a team after competing in teams of two at the Bear Relays on Sept. 1.
Joining TCU at the North Texas Invitational will be North Texas, Baylor, Oklahoma State, UTA, Central Arkansas, Northwood University, Dallas Baptist.
TCU began its 2006 season at the Bear Relays with a strong performance. Competing with four teams of two individuals on the women's side and three teams of two individuals on the men's side, TCU had two teams finish in the top four.
Leading the charge for TCU was the women's team of Calandra Stewart and Danielle Selner, which place third in the women's 8,000-meter race with a time of 28.27.09. The top duo on the men's side was Alex Morris and Festus Kigen, who finished fourth with a time of 38.35.94.
