COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - TCU freshman forward Lizzy Karoly has been selected as the Mountain West Conference Offensive Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday.
Karoly, a native of Escondido, Calif., tallied two goals and also had an assist in TCU's 3-0 win over Texas-San Antonio on Sept. 23. Karoly, the league leader in shots, also took nine shots, including seven on goal in the win over the Roadrunners.
With the addition of her two shots against SMU on Sept. 21, Karoly totaled 11 shots for the week.
The two goals for Karoly gave her four goals on the year, while the assist was her second of the year. The two-goal effort was Karoly's second of the season after also tallying two goals against Oral Roberts on Sept. 3.
The MWC Player of the Week honor is the second of the season for the Horned Frogs. Caroline Starns was named Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 11 for her play against Notre Dame and Houston.
The Horned Frogs return to action on Oct. 1 when they travel to Boise, Idaho, to face Boise State at 2 p.m.
