FORT WORTH, Texas - The TCU men's cross country team continues its season on Saturday at the Texas A&M Invitational, beginning at 7:45 a.m. at the Texas A&M University Intramural Fields.
TCU is looking to build off its finish at the North Texas Invitational, where the Horned Frogs tied for second with 72 points.
The Texas A&M Invitational will mark the only time this season where the men's team will compete in a meet that the women's team is not competing in. The women's team is off this weekend and will compete next at the Cowboy Invitational on Sept. 30 in Stillwater, Okla.
Leading TCU at the North Texas Invitational was Matt Manly, who placed ninth with a time of 20:54.81 in the men's 4-mile race.
The Horned Frogs' success at the North Texas Invitational was largely due to the team's ability to group together and finish as a pack. TCU had six runners place between 14th-21st.
The pack of runners was led by Steven Solazzo, who placed 14th with a time of 21:20.65. Solazzo was followed by Cody Cook (21:24.86) and J.T. Reinert (21:31.77), who placed 15th and 16th, respectively.
Placing 18th was Alex Morris, who ran a 21:35.03. Houston Bolin (21:46.49) and Brad Maciulewicz (21:46.69) placed 20th and 21st, respectively. Placing 30th was Michael Garcia, who finished in a time of 22:44.82.
